Storylines

Chase Young grades out as NO's best

Chase Young (DE) is at 76 out of 100 through week 6 of 2026. That score compares him with everyone else at his position — an 84 would mean better than 84% of them — and it comes from charted play, not raw totals.

Where They Stand

Overall: Grade 48, 27th of 32 — in the bottom third.

Weaknesses: special teams (32nd).

Coaching: Kellen Moore falls 1.9 points a game short of what his rosters' grades say he should, over 23 games, 26th in the league.

Offense — better on paper: The offense's players grade 55 out of 100, but on the field that side has played better than 30% of the league.

This season: 2-4. Last time out, they beat New York Giants 34-27.

Since preseason: Down 1.6 points since the preseason, mostly because its coach's record slipped and its defense played worse than before (better than 67% of the league, now better than 58%). Winning doesn't move the grade by itself. The grade is how well the players and each side of the ball played, and 6 games still counts for less than last season.

Written from this club's own numbers: its grade, the offense, defense, special teams and coach that make it up, its last games, its division, and its depth chart. Which facts show up depends on where this club is unusual, so no two teams get the same summary. The site builds the sentences from those numbers. A chatbot does not write them.
